DJ Nikhil Chinapa

Nikhil Chinapa’s foray into the world of entertainment began when he won the ‘MTV VJ Hunt’ in 1999, which launched his career as a television personality. He quickly became a household name as the host of ‘MTV Select’, a show that introduced Indian audiences to popular music and bands from around the world. Nikhil has also been instrumental in shaping the music landscape in India. In 2003, he co-founded Submerge, one of the largest EDM companies in India, along with his wife Pearl and Hermit Sethi. Submerge played a pivotal role in bringing EDM to the forefront of the Indian music scene, hosting events, and supporting the careers of many aspiring DJs. 

Nikhil's passion for music and his dedication to promoting EDM led him to co-found the iconic Sunburn Festival in 2007, which quickly became one of the largest dance music festivals in Asia. However, after parting ways with Sunburn in 2013 due to internal differences, Nikhil and his wife Pearl co-founded Vh1 Supersonic, a festival that has since become one of India's premier dance music events. With a career spanning over two decades, he has become an influential figure as a DJ, television host, and festival curator. 

His charismatic presence on television led to him hosting and judging numerous shows, including 'India's Got Talent 2' alongside Ayushmann Khurana, 'MTV Splitsvilla,' 'Rock On,' 'MTV Mashups,' 'Fame X,' and multiple seasons of 'MTV Roadies.' 

Nikhil Chinapa's contributions to the Indian music industry extend beyond his work as a DJ and festival curator. He has been a driving force in making DJing a respected and sought-after profession in India, inspiring countless young artists to pursue careers in music.
